Talia "Tillie" Gottlieb

I lived in five countries during the first 18 months of my life, attended the International School of Kenya until age 12, and finished school in Potomac, Maryland, before heading west to Walla Walla, Washington, for my undergraduate degree in Theatre at Whitman College. Driven and energetic, I managed my many transitions by pursuing classical ballet, eating a lot of chips and salsa, and relying on compassionate mentors. Inspired by these dedicated advisors, I began work as an Admission Officer for my alma mater. After exploring the fields of publishing and marketing, I found myself once again drawn to education, missing the connections forged with students and their families. 

 

Taking the next step in my career, I enrolled at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and completed my Masters in International Education Management. I finished my final semester and practicum working for the Admissions & University Counseling Office at Pearson College, United World College (UWC) in scenic British Columbia, Canada.

 

Inspired by the diverse, hardworking UWC community, I set my sights on continuing to work with motivated students from around the world. I moved to Bangkok, Thailand, in June 2016 to become a College Counselor and teacher at Top Scholars. I am thrilled to be guiding students through the college application process and helping them develop "true intellectualism and empathetic global citizenship."

 

My combined interests in the fine arts, girls' education, and intercultural communication continue to shape my professional goals. I am committed to helping students from diverse backgrounds navigate major life transitions and find the post secondary paths best suited to their needs.
